Letos is in beta. What that means

Features

Letos (home screen)

The Letos home screen — the Today, Waiting for you and Letos (yearly goals) cards.

On this page

The Letos module is the home screen: one view of today, of what’s waiting for you, and of your year. Open it with ⌘ 0 (in the desktop app) or with the first tab on the iPhone.

At the top you’ll see the date with the week number, a greeting for the time of day and a one-line summary, such as “Today: 1 meeting and 2 tasks.” When there’s nothing on, you’ll see “Your day is free.”

Letos home: Today, Waiting for you and the year at a glance (desktop app)

Today

One timeline of today’s events and the tasks planned for today, with a “now” line.

  • It shows up to 6 items and tucks the rest under “+N more” (which opens today’s plan in Tasks).
  • Tick a task off right here. You’ll see “Done: …” with an option to undo.
  • For a meeting with a video-call link, a Join button appears 15 minutes before it starts.
  • Type a new task for today into Add for today….
  • Full day in Calendar opens the day in Calendar.

A task that’s waiting on another one is marked “waiting on another task” (see dependencies).

Waiting for you

A short list of things that need your attention. A row only appears when there’s something in it, and clicking it opens the list behind it:

  • Unread emails — per mailbox.
  • Tasks to triage — tasks without a priority or category. Opens Triage.
  • Awaiting a reply — e-mails you sent that nobody has replied to.
  • Overdue — active tasks due before today.

When everything’s done, you’ll see “All clear.”

This week

The This week card holds one to three tasks linked to your goals that matter most this week.

  • While the card is empty, Pick opens a list of tasks from your goals. Accept suggestion picks them in one go, starting with whatever is closest to its due date. Without a goal the card says “Set a goal first – then you can pick this week’s tasks here”.
  • On a chosen task, To Today sets its due date to today in one tap. A task that is already due today or overdue is marked “Today”. Remove a chosen task with the cross.
  • After the move you see “… is in Today” with an Undo button. Undo restores the previous due date, but only if the due date is still the one we set. If you changed it in the meantime (here or on another device), your change stays.
  • The selection syncs between your devices and only applies to the current week. Next week you start with an empty card.

The number of weeks in a row in which you finished at least one goal step shows as a small flame on the year card.

Letos

The year card: a ring showing how much of the year has passed, and up to three active yearly goals. Each goal shows its pace — on track, behind or no milestones — and its Next step. The Whole year link opens Tasks → Year.

If you don’t have any goals yet, the card asks “What do you want to achieve this year?” and offers Add a goal. More about goals in Tasks.

What opens at launch

In Settings → Appearance → Open on launch choose Letos, Mail, Calendar or Tasks. It’s set per device. After you finish the setup wizard, it’s set to the Letos home screen.
